The photo you like came from my partner Colin ( a retired funeral director!!)and I take your point on the oil spill cam -I agree but it's not there for entertainment -it's there to act as a stark reminder of the problem. News here suggests that this situation is unlikely to be resolved quickly and it is a hook to maintain awareness.
On a separate thread how is your house move going?. I saw some photos of your garden-quite splendid.
