In My Father's House There are Many Dwelling Places

Jesus said, "In my father's house, there are many dwelling places..." John 14:2

Participants at last week's retreat at Bethel Horizons for the Homeless created clay models of their ideal room; one of the results is shown below.. lovely !

What would your ideal dwelling place in heaven look like and who would be in it ?

Richard Rohr has a lovely phrase
"When Jesus said ‘I am the way the truth and the life’, it means that you are NOT."

and there is a lovely reflection to go with this quote and Sunday's gospel from here by Peter Woods and a fine fresh piece of insight from one of the comments for this post which I love so have included it here :

"I have begun thinking of the many rooms in the Father’s house not so much as each one of us getting our room but as the qualities and attributes of God.
So there are rooms of love, mercy, beauty, compassion, forgiveness, healing…. We experience the different rooms at different points in our life.
The rooms in the Father’s house are not our reward but our journey into the heart of God.
There are places prepared for us but our places never deprive another of their places."

I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.

I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
- St. Paul, Ephesians 3:16-19
