'Tis The Season For Religious Conferences

It's the season for religious conferences ...

If you want to follow what the US Bishops are doing at their Annual Conference in Seattle which started yesterday there is live video coverage here and links to Facebook and Twitter too.

Meanwhile in Ireland in this video Fr Kevin Doran speaks about the recent meeting of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses which took place in All Hallows College Dublin from 1 – 3 June 2011.

Fr Kevin also talks about the preparations for the 2012 Irish Eucharistic Congress and what International and Irish pilgrims can be doing at this point to prepare for the Congress which is just one year away.

Here is a link to the text of Archbishop Diarmuid Martin’s address to the International Delegates where he speaks of his serious concerns and hopes on the future of the Irish Church.

The American Catholic Council (ACC) met for the first time this last weekend in Detroit and I would like to post further on this but haven't had the time yet.....

Hans Kung gave a video speech on the first day and you can now order complete DVD's or CD's of the various presentations including Hans Kung's from their website Click here for the link

My friend Thom Curnutte does a fine summary of it here at his blog Faith in the 21st Century

and there are also extensive posts on it from Colleen at Enlightened Catholicism here

Lucky Brother Dan at Dating God has been at an International Conference on Thomas Merton . Click here for his post and he also presented a paper.

Finally The Catholic Theological Society of America have had their convention. Link to list of topic and speakers are here
