Music For The Weekend Eric Bibbs

Eric Bibb is a folk singer and song-writer who draws on the American traditions of spirituals, blues and gospel music.

Born in New York City to a musical family, he is the godson of Paul Robeson, and has performed with the likes of Pete Seeger and Odetta. Eric grew up with the King James Bible and recognised at an early age that the tradition of the spirituals, born from the hardship of slavery, adapted these same Biblical texts to songs of solace and liberation.

I discovered him earlier this year and love his music. So here's a selection to take us into the weekend. Enjoy !!
