Song for 1st July 2012

Egyptian Bird Images source

This is a lovely tune based on Psalm 121, not 120.

It's in French but the translation is below

 A very rough translation in English :-)) is under each verse in green

Seigneur mon secours, en Toi seul mon bonheur,
ma vie repose entre tes mains. (bis)

Lord help me, in You alone is my happiness
My life is in Your hands ( Repeat )

1. J'élève les yeux au loin, d'où me vient le secours.
Le secours me vient de Dieu, de Dieu seul !

I lift up my eyes from where comes my rescue
My help comes from God, from God Alone

2. Ton pied ne chancellera,
Il veille sur tes pas. Il ne dort ni ne sommeille, ton gardien !

Your foot will not stumble
He watches your steps. He never sleeps nor slumbers, your guard.

3. Au départ et au retour, il gardera ton âme
À jamais le Seigneur veille sur toi.

In your coming and your going he will guard/preserve your soul
Forever He will watch over you

The full Psalm 121
A song of Ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
He who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
He will watch over your life;
The Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and for evermore.
