Part of UK Papal Masses to be celebrated in Latin and Some Electro Pop for Afters

Monsignor Guido Marini, Papal Master of Ceremonies, confirms in an interview with Scotland’s Herald newspaper today that during his visit to Britain Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate the Prefaces and Canons of all his Masses in Latin, “to emphasise the universality of the faith and the continuity of the Church”.
The Canon (Eucharistic Prayer) is the heart of the Mass, during which the priest consecrates and elevates the Host.
There can be little doubt that Marini has put his foot down.
He is now sending a clear  message to English, Welsh and Scottish bishops who actively discourage the celebration of Mass in Latin.

Meanwhile UK electro-pop band, Ooberfüse, have produced a new record to coincide with the papal visit.
The track is entitled Heart’s Cry and it will get its worldwide digital release on 12 September.
The track is likely be part of the Hyde Park prayer vigil on 18 September. It includes lyrics such as “Go help the poorest of the poor / lying dying the gutter / like Teresa of Calcutta,” as well as words of Pope Benedict, such as “Hatred will never reign in the hearts of men again.”
In a statement, the band said they were “overjoyed when members of the bishops’ organising committee decided to dub our track the ‘youth anthem’ of the papal visit”.
Bandmember Cherrie said in the statement, “It’s really cool because the song Heart’s Cry matches the theme of the papal visit ‘Heart Speaks Unto Heart.”
While another bandmember, Cornel added, “We hope people will break out on the dance-floor to the sound of Il Papa gently proclaiming (with characteristic German accentuation) that ‘Hatred will never reign in the hearts of men again’ and that we should courageously ‘give voice to that cry’, the cry of Love treading with dove’s footsteps in the ‘mysterious and inscrutable’ depths of our hearts.”

Just in case you were wondering the Ooberfuse lyrics are in  English............
presumably so we can sing along y'all ???
You’ve got to open your heart wide
To the Love that is inside
Source of life none can resist
Her fatal charms disperse the mist
Of hopelessness and deep despair
Broken wings she will repair
With Love
You’ve got to open your heart wide
To the Love that is inside
She is the force of raging passion
Melting hearts with Love’s compassion
Living water
Rushing tide
Flowing hidden deep inside
Tide of Love
"Hatred will never reign in the hearts of men again"

Hoping you’ll hear me
Love is my heart’s cry
That you would feel
Love is my heart’s cry
"Give voice to that cry"

You’ve got to open your heart wide
To the Love that is inside
When she knocks upon your door
Go help the poorest of the poor
Lying dying in the gutter
Like Theresa of Calcutta
Feel the love y'all!

You’ve got to open your heart wide

To the Love that is inside
Let Love sweep across the nation
And ignite a conflagration
Burning up all our defences
Pulling down dividing fences
With Love
"Hatred will never reign in the hearts of men again"

Hoping you’ll hear me
Love is my heart’s cry
That you would feel
Love is my heart’s cry
"Give voice to that cry"

"God lives, even though we sometimes find it difficult to grasp his mysterious and inscrutable ways."

I hear you call my name
Life won’t be the same

Hoping you’ll hear me
Love is my heart’s cry
That you would feel
Love is my heart’s cry

"Give voice to that cry"

Personally I would prefer this from REM; an oldie but a goodie.

" Oh no I've said too much. I haven't said  enough.........."

Like many women in my church that's the way I feel some days.
