Thanks to Meredith Gould for the link from her blog The Virtual Abbey here and information on support.
Even though it is an American site generally the same applies in the UK. ( For UK readers PSA stands for Public Service Announcement ).

It will help to create awareness for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I have suffered from this chronic progressive illness since the age of 40 and it must be one of the most commonly misunderstood and trivialised illnesses around.

Overwhelming and sudden fatigue are ever present. Pain is intermittent and there are periods of remission but when it is bad the pain can be debilitating.

Some people can manage their rheumatoid arthritis better than others and everyone has a different pain threshold and coping ability.

- Yes there are good days and I am not bed ridden but every activity costs afterwards. and the recovery time needed from activity is much greater than for a physically healthy person.
Yes, there is medication to reduce and control the pain, the crippling effects and inflammation of the joints but the side effects over long periods inevitably cause problems.

The most powerful drugs do not suit all and are too expensive unless a person is in the most severe category.

Yes, I can go on holiday and even ride a bike on good days - but having this illness 24 hours,  seven days a week, 52 days a year  does take it's toll.

There are over two hundred different types of rheumatoid arthritis and no two people are the same !

Please help people be informed and understand this condition more.
