Lent 2011 On The Way

Lent 2011 begins on Ash  Wednesday, March 9th.

Well here we are almost ready to start the Lenten cycle again !!

For Eastern Rite Catholics, Lent 2011  begins two days earlier, on Clean  Monday, March 7, 2011.
There are 46 days from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday on 24th April.

Here are a few free resources that look promising for use.

Christine Sine's excellent resources at Godspace are in preparation  for 2011 and her 2010 resources are still there with this short video meditation below to start your preparation early !
She is also asking people for contributions to add to her site and also plans a synchro blog.

The Ignatian Spirituality website too will soon have some good material for 2011.

I will be away from the internet for the first three weeks of Lent and so won't be able to post on a daily basis during this time but I will try (!) and update these resources before I go away.
  • Free Resources from Churches Together in Britain and Ireland from here.
Their theme is The Unreconciled. ( How true is that? !!)

  • This free resource from The Passionists with the intriguing title Lent 4.5 focuses on social action and the environment and finding ways to practice living more simply.
So why 4.5 you ask ? Answer below :

  • Anglicans in World Mission Free Resources and Study guides are here

Holy Week 2011 is

18th - 23rd April

Thanks again Phil - lent, makes me want to go and buy chocolate....that is always the easiest thing to do, the inner work is so much more difficult. We will miss you....hope you're doing something fun.

Thanks Roberta and Andie. Hope you enjoy these.
I shall miss doing my blog and will fret that when I come back everyone will have forgotten me !
Andie, you're right about the inner work being the more challenging part to focus on. I hope for renewal in myself and in my church.
Blessings to you both.
