Rise Up at Least for A Day

Coming up for this Sunday 16th Ordinary Time Mass readings here  :

It's all about keeping the dream of the kingdom of heaven alive:and there is plenty to chew over so here's a few crumbs to get you going.

There's references to us ever industrious women always in the kitchen (really,?),

using small amounts of yeast to make big blooming batches of bouncing beautiful life-giving bread,

or in my case that might be more like bread on a stick.

Does anyone think that might encourage us self-sufficient women to keep kneading away at the crusty stale batches in the church ?

Then there's the business of having to make do and be patient: allowing the weeds to grow with the wheat until the end - and I'm thinking it might be because if the whole corrupt edifice of the church was to be let crumble we might all lose our way.

No we have to make do - the angels will sort us all out eventually and the imagery is rich for what we can expect - a sort of perfect storm of justice as there will be bundles of everything that is evil lined up for burning in a bonfire and much wailing and grinding of teeth- this part is just perfect for those days when I'm feeling really mad about things and "Hell is Other People" is the only mantra I find myself repeating, rather than the Jesus prayer; yes this passage is the one for me as long as I'm not the one in the bonfire and wailing and grinding category methinks.

After the monumental Cloyne report this week (see this post ) plus all the rest of the sickness in this world I guess I'm asking how can we rise up  ? Like - Right now .

Even the second reading on Sunday below is right on the button if you like me are at a complete loss for how to deal with it all and I'm wondering about the phrase

"but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings" -
firstly how do we know the Spirit is a He ?
Is it the Holy Spirit that is groaning or all of us?

Brothers and sisters:
The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness;
for we do not know how to pray as we ought,
but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
And the one who searches hearts
knows what is the intention of the Spirit,
because he intercedes for the holy ones
according to God’s will.

This video is all I can come up with for now- but if you can think of lightness of being, creative energy and a little bit of joy  that would be near to my prayer for what I would love my church to become... does that make any sense ?

Ah, it must be Friday and I'm getting a little flaky or else I'll blame it on my age..the video does carry a message.

If I did sound like I was scolding you, then I do apologize. It was my bad.
I was too flippant about this and I will have to be more careful next time. To go into it rather than surf the topic...
