Some Web Browsing

It's been a "full on" Advent Week One for me as far as blog posts are concerned. I'm still working on this Sunday's reflections and I'm pretty tired.

So to end the week I thought it would be nice to direct you to one of my favourite sites at Sacred Space102fm in Limerick which has a fine selection of links for you to browse through in this post:- some to tickle the funny bone and others that are more challenging.

They also have two beautiful pieces of music so I've put them here.
Thanks Sacred Space !!

Enjoy...

Salve Regina, chanted by the Monastic Choir of the Abbey of Notre-Dame Fontgombault. It is a beautiful version of this song to Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

Words to Salve Regina in Latin are below and English loose translation is below them.

 Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae:
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exsules, filii Hevae.
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, Advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos
ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis, post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens: O pia: O dulcis
Virgo Maria.

English translation

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy.
Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us.
And after this our exile show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

This prayer when spoken is usually followed by this
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

God Is With Us sung by Orthodox Nuns (in English)

Your blog is always so rich, beautiful, and full of the bounty of God, that I never fail to be blessed by it.

Thank you.
May you also be richly blessed. x
