Discerning The Way Ahead

In June 2012 the 50th International Eucharistic Congress takes place in Dublin.

On 1st May, the Association of Catholic Priests is planning an assembly of the Irish church.

The diocese of Down and Connor have a listening process for their Living Church Report. Other dioceses may have plans of their own.

This excellent article by Padraig McCarthy asks "How Are We To See A Way Ahead",

The way where? How can we proceed in such a way that it will be clear that the life of the Church is based first of all on Baptism, not on Orders (in either sense)?

The article is relevant not only to the issues of renewal specifically facing the Irish Church but to all churches in the West which are dealing with similar crises.
