I Have Heard So Many Songs (The Father's Song ) : Lyrics Matt Redman
Sung by Robin Marks
I'm feeling more sentimental as the week goes on. :-)
I know Jesus is supposed to be in the here and now but I'm caught up in the
Ignatian way of imagining myself in the events as they happened so I'm hearing this song as if Jesus is singing it before the Ascension, being drawn home by the call of His Father, the Father's Love that was written in His heart from all eternity.
I came across it by chance and now it's become one of those tunes that once heard keeps repeating itself.

Lyrics
Chorus
I have heard so many songs
Listened to a thousand tongues
But there is one
That sounds above them all
The Father's Song
The Father's Love
You sang it over me and for eternity
It's written on my heart
Listened to a thousand tongues
But there is one
That sounds above them all
The Father's Song
The Father's Love
You sang it over me and for eternity
It's written on my heart
CHORUS as above repeat
Heavens perfect melody
The Creator's Symphony
Now You're singing over me
The Father's Song
Heavens perfect mystery
The King of Love has sent for me
Now you're singing over me
The Father's Song
I have heard so many songs
Listened to a thousand tongues
But there is one
That sounds above them all
The Father's Song
The Father's Love
You sang it over me and for eternity
It's written on my heart
Heaven's perfect melody
The Creator's symphony
You are singing over me
The Father's Song
Heavens perfect mystery
The King of Love has sent for me
Now you're singing over me
The King of Love has sent for me
Now you're singing over me
The Father's Song
