Silent, Surrendered

This is a beautiful song that can be used for  prayer and/or meditation.
I find it helps to pull my attention away from my surroundings and everyday cares and worries buzzing around in my head and opens me up to the Holy Spirit.

It is written by Margaret Rizza, and is featured on her CD Fountain of Life.
Lyrics below :
Silent, surrendered
Silent, surrendered, calm and still,
open to the word of God.
Heart humbled to his will,
offered is the servant of God.

Yusuf Islam Old and Cat Stevens Young

Still at his best whatever his age. Interestingly he has now dropped the "surname " Islam from his stage name. You can link to his new webpage with all sorts of stuff including interviews and he dispels some common myths that have been around in the past few years. The site is still in development so more is yet to come from this man....... but for now enjoy the music.

The Four Tops

Due to the appalling inclemency of the weather here in Cornwall I need some cheering up- so here is one of my all time favorite uplift songs. Enjoy !!

Geoffrey Gurrumul

Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu was born blind. This hauntingly beautiful song "Bapa" is in his native Aborigine tongue. You dont need a translation when the music touches your heart.. Thanks to my friend Marj who introduced me to his music in Spain.
