A few of my own thoughts :

The article above supplies some balance in the face of a deluge of bad press, but I don't think what is happening in the church is a footnote; more a necessary prelude to the need for deep seated change and reform.

From the BBC World Service Series, Hard Talk , Zeinab Badawi speaks challengingly to Father Bernard Lynch, one of a few openly gay Catholic priests. How will the church recover from these embarrassing blows at a time of historic transition?

Tina Beattie Invites Readers To Her New Blog

I have in recent posts mentioned Professor Tina Beattie who lectures in theology and Religious Studies at Roehampton University and today I find that she has started a new and interesting blog which she is keen to promote so please have a look ...

It is part of THE DIGBY STUART RESEARCH CENTRE FOR CATHOLIC STUDIES:

Her blog intends to foster informed debate and dialogue about Catholic faith and culture in contemporary society.

All postings which make valid contributions around issues relevant to contemporary Catholicism are welcomed.

For the next two weeks, it will be dedicated to discussion about Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Britain but will remain open thereafter.
